Do
you remember me telling you about Mutt and Jeff way back in August coming over and it turned out
that Jeff was a GIRL. Remember Jeff was
all matted up with mud and stickers all over her and mom thought she was part
Yorkie. Anyways, we have a new neighbor
across the pasture from us and the lady has an Australian Shepherd named
Digger. He came over one day and mom
opened the back door and he came on in like he owned the place; he’s a real
nice guy. Again I digress, the other day
when it was raining, the neighbor lady told dad she found a muddy little Yorkie
and she washed and shaved her furs. Dad
told her where he thought the Yorkie lived.
Mom came home yesterday and saw the lady, Digger and the Yorkie playing out in
their front yard. Mom smiled because it
was Jeff and she was all cleaned up looking real pretty and happy. But mom has some guilt because she knows
where Jeff’s home is. Mom says Jeff’s
owner’s drive by Jeff’s new place every day (maybe they don’t recognize her all
clean). Mom is torn, she knows now that
Jeff is kept safe inside a fenced yard and her fur is not all matted but she
thinks about what if I was at someone else’s house and she didn’t know where I
was. Mom says she would want to know where
I was but then again mom would never let me out of her sight and she would
knock on every door until she found me. Do
y’all have any advice for mom?
I'd be as torn as Mom!
ReplyDeleteIts great to know the 'Jeff' is doing well now and has a good home though. But I know Mum would recognise me with or without my furs!

We'd probably say nothing and hope Jeff stays happy and clean. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh dog, that's a tough one! Our family would freak the heck out if one of us was missing. Mom would call in the Blogville PD AND the FBI if she had to. We think someone should talk to the owner to see if Jeff is really not wanted there. Sad to think about..... Let us know how you make out.

If Jeff's Mom does not put up missing posters or knocks on doors, dan she probably doesn't deserve to be loved by Jeff. Sounds like Jeff is happy and loved, right where she is and dat's a really good thing. Think of it as if Jeff was rescued and is now in a happy home.
ReplyDeleteDat's what I think anyways.

Ranger
We agree with Molly. Let's hope for the best, otherwise we may steal her

I wouldn't want to get in the middle of this one.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a hard one...we would probably just wait...sounds like Jeff is well taken care of and loved right now...

OUR mom would be CRAZY if she could not find us, and looking and knocking and drivng up and down the street with a bullhorn to her mouf.....this is a hard one, but Jeff is happy and not trying to dig out the fence and go home, we all know there are some peoples here on earth that are to stoopid to take care of us....stella rose ps. maybe jeffs owl owner knows and is glad she is gone.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Ranger. If I had Jeff everyone would know my pup was missing and that I wanted my pup back. It seems that Jeff's peeps do not care. If they did Jeff would not be matted and lost in the first place. So if Jeff peeps don't ask then I would not tell. She is in a loving home now and not trying to go back to where she was.

Momma thought my kitty sister was missing once and was bawling and out looking everywhere. If you see someone out searching or putting up posters, then let them know you think you've seen her. Otherwise, let Jeff enjoy her new home!
ReplyDeleteI think we pretty much agree with everyone. sounds like she has a much better home now. She deserves a good life, not one full of stickers and matted hair

Yuppers...if she goes around the neighborhood calling and lookin' for 'Jeff" then I would say something, otherwise, I would just let 'Jeff' be happy and loved and cared for where she is. If that was me, I would give myself away with a margarita in my paw! ☺
ReplyDeleteKisses,

Well, check the papers and stuff and see if they even know she's gone--then act.
ReplyDeleteA friend's daughter was followed home from school by a lamb. When cleaned up, it was really a poodle.
BOL!!! Was her name Mary???
DeleteWe agree with Ruby. If Jeff is happy where she is; let it be but how can you not search for your beloved pup :-(
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Dat are a tuff one, if Jeff's peeps are not lookin for her though wif posters and all dat, dey probably don't deserve to have her.
ReplyDeleteCrikey Sully..... if I was missin' Mum would be yelling and screamin' until she could yell and scream no more and there'd be signs in EVERY letter box for miles around as well as pasted on trees and in Vets surgeries and EVERY internet site she could find. So Jeff's peeps DON'T WANT HER and DON'T DESERVE HER!! For goodness sake ..... who calls a sheila, Jeff???? Morons!!!! Keep your secret Sully. Jeff's happy now!! Don't feel guilty Mom ..... if anyone should feel guilty it's Jeff's original owners.
ReplyDeleteI know how your Mom is feeling. But I am not exactly the one to ask about this because I have to confess that being involved with rescue, I have known of dogs that "disappear" from owners who didn't care and were probably happy that the dog was gone. Keep the secret for now, let the cards fall as they were meant too and see what happens, if they look for Jeff. Like the others, I am also grateful that Jeff is in a good place. Let us know what is decided okay?
ReplyDeleteIf Jeff's true owners really cared about her, they'd have put fliers up and would be going door-to-door searching for her. We say, let little Jeff enjoy her new life and home and friend. That's our 2 cents.

Oh I think my Lee would recognized me all shaved down no matter what. And I think Jeff would recognize the car as it went past, because I sure recognize the sound of my car. I even recognized the sound of our friends car. When the car turns the corner I run for the door even though Lee cannot see the car yet. I think Jeff does not care for that person if she does not acknowledge the car.
ReplyDeleteI think Jeff is happy where she is. Digger sounds like quite the well round secure dog to step into your home. So I think life is good like it is.
That is my two cents worth.
Thanks for being a friend

Ms. Jeff is in a better place, but the old owners still need to have a butt kickin'.....
